Domaine Jean-Pierre Guyon
Jean-Pierre Guyon, with his wife, Isabelle, succeeded his father in the family domaine in 1991. The domaine was established in 1938 by Jean-Pierre’s great grand-father. The holdings are primarily in the Côte de Nuits – Vosne, Echezeaux, Gevrey, and Nuits. Additionally he has old-vine holdings in Savigny-les-Beaune and Chorey-les-Beaune, where Jean-Pierre produces exceptional value wines. Almost all of the parcels are in old vines – 50 to 110 years. Harvesting is entirely by hand, triage in the vineyard, by sorting table machine, and then again by hand. Vinification is whole-cluster. Cuvaison is long – around 4 weeks depending on vintage. The wines are bottled without fining or filtration and with little SO2. Domaine Guyon has been certified organic since the 2012 vintage.
