Domaine Jean-Pierre Guyon Chorey-Les-Beaune 'Les Bons Ores'

Wine Information
Chorey-Les-Beaune is one of the more humble red wine appellations on the Côte D'Or, normally producing simple, light red wine for drinking young. But the best vineyards, when managed by the best vignerons, can produce wine to rival much grander names.
Les Bons Ores is a vineyard right on the border of Aloxe Corton and this is from a patch of old vines, some up to 100 years old.

Grape Variety: Pinot Noir fermented partly as whole bunches, matured in one year old oak barrels for around 12 months.

Côte de Beaune. Soil: clay/limestone. Vine age: average 65 years. Grapes harvested by hand. Sorted in 3 stages: 2 by hand, 1 machine. Indigenous yeasts, 25-28 day cuvaison. Maturation 10 - 14 months in year-old oak barrels. Bottled without filtration after racking and a waiting time of 3-4 months.

Vine Age: Average 45 years
Soil Type: Limestone/clay
