Haut Selve

Château Haut Selve

Château Haut Selve is the unique creation of a vineyard in Bordeaux area in the 20 th century. Planted on an exceptional terroir, equivalent to those of the Grands Crus Classés, Château Haut Selve quickly became a key player in the Graves AOC. Since its 1996 vintage, Château Haut Selve has always been top rated at the “Trophée des Graves”, whether it is for its red or white wines.

At the time of the creation of the vineyard, a rigorous choice was made concerning varieties and grafts depending on the soil analysis.

16 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon on deep stony soil.
12 hectares of Merlot on limestone stony soil and 4 hectares on deep stony soil.
5 hectares of Sémillon, 4 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc and 2 hectares of Sauvignon Gris on clay stony soil.

The vinification is done in a very modern winery that has the most recent material and technique. It allows each batch of wine to be vinified and aged separately depending on its origin.

The red wines are aged in barrels for 12 to 16 months, depending on the specificity of each plot.

The white wines, after a skin contact maceration in Elite vats, are fermented, stirred, and aged in oak barrels (6 months)
