Domaine Bruno Clair Marsannay Blanc

Marsannay Blanc, comes from various plots on the Marsannay slope, above les Longeroies, les Étalles, les Vaudenelles and les Roseys. It is a blend of 80 % chardonnay and 20% pinot blanc. Purposely planted on poor soil, very fine clay, called " rabbit grounds ", the chardonnay gives fruity aromas whereas the pinot blanc brings roundness and meatiness.

Vine Age: 3/4 planted in 1980, 1/4 planted up to 2000
Terroir: Slope above Marsannay, poor soil of fine clay
Viticulture: Lutte raisonnée (converting to organic)
Vinification: Pneumatic pressing, indigenous yeast fermentation. Aged for 18 months in older oak barrels calledfoudres. Short blending period in tank before bottling.
