Powerful and complex. The Montee de Tonnerre is often quoted as the best 1er Crus in Chablis. Situated next to the Grand Crus its superior exposition gives the wine consistency each and every year.

Soil Type: Marls and calcareous clay from the Kimmeridgien period.
Harvest: End of September - Early October.
Age: 55 years. Massale Selection.
Exposure: Southeast.
Soil: Predominantly calcareous clay.
Yield: 55 hectoliters per hectare. Manual harvesting.
Breeding: 12 to 18 months.
Tasting notes: Powerful and complex “wine of guard."
