The Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Crus Les Cazetiers is "the Clos St. Jacques of Serafin" as it is on the same slope above the village of Gevrey and with an exposition similar to the Grands Crus. Vines are 60 years old. 100% new oak elevage.
A tart melange of fresh red and black raspberries joins with smoked meat and bitter dark chocolate in Serafin’s lean, long, bright, and multi-registered Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers. Here is an instance of more than enough stamina, refreshment, and fine tannic underpinnings allied to sufficient sweet, sappy primary fruit, a combination one finds too seldom. Hints of vanilla and licorice add allure to a long finish.
