Domaine Jean Royer Chateauneuf du Pape Le Petit Roy

Domaine Jean Royer Chateauneuf du Pape Le Petit Roy

Wine Information
This wine is made from three sources 0.6ha situated near a site south of town and outside any appellation (Syrah and Grenache). 0.5ha in Orange is situated in AOC Cotes du Rhone (Mourvèdre). Part of the wine is declassified Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

In 2015, La Petit Roy isn’t very “Petit.” In fact, it’s a pretty big and burly thing with deep base notes of black  raspberry and roasted strawberry plus lively accents of crushed herb, lavender, black pepper and spice. It’s wide open and ready to love today but will still be pumping out joy in 2020. Very Provençal and pretty enough to serve  at a party but  with more than enough heft to pair with leftover leg of lamb.
