A .88 Ha parcel on the right side of the Serein River, South/South West facing, the Les Clos profits with perfect sun exposure. Often quoted as being the King of the Chablis Grands Crus. Complex and powerful with a perfect balance, this wine which is vinified in the traditional Burgundian style; 100% traditional oak fermentation and ageing in 3-9 year old oak casks. Entirely hand-harvested.
Description: Often quoted as being the King of the Chablis Grands Crus. This vineyard produces the best qualities of all the other Grand Crus vineyards. Complex and powerful with a perfect balance, this wine which is vinified in the traditional Burgundian style (100 % oak fermented and aged). A Grand Cru that will reward you with long term ageing.
Cépage: 100 % Chardonnay (known locally as “Beaunois”).

Terroir: Lime-clay soils are dominant here, but the geological originality of appellation Chablis resides in its sub-strata, often quite near the surface, of kimmeridgean limestone, formed by billions of tiny fossilised oyster shells called ostrea virgule.
