2010 Roots Leroy Vineyard Pinot Noir

2010 Leroy Vineyard Pinot Noir

Leroy Vineyard is located in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, south of
Hillsboro. The vines are rooted in Laurelwood soils. Just 4 acres in size,
the vineyard is planted to 40-year-old self rooted Pommard, Wadenswil,
and Upright clone. The Laurelwood soils are classified as silt loam on
surface, underlying clay soil. Roots has been farming this vineyard organic
since taking over the management in 2006. This vineyard is owned
by Leroy Nelson and managed by Chris Berg. The wine shows bright,
natural acidity and elegant red fruit.
