Wine Information
This Pinot Noir is a true treat!  Has aromas of wood, and a slight mineral palate.  The finish is very elegant and smooth.  This wine will age very well.

Size: 0.40 ha (0.99 ac)
Variety: Pinot Noir
Vine Age: Planted from 1945 to 1980s
Terroir: On the Gevrey side of Morey, below Charmes, deeper limestone soils
Viticulture: Purchased grapes
Vinification: 60-80% whole-cluster, short cold maceration before fermentation, rapid de-vatting. Aged for 12 months on fine lees in barrel (20-30% new), 3 months settling in tank, gentle white earth filtration.

 

 

Guyot and Cordon pruning with high trellising and careful plowing. Since 2010, work in the vineyards and in the cellar follows the lunar calendar.

Unfortunately, 2016 is the last vintage that Virgile made this wine, because his purchasing contract ended in 2017.
