Bruno Clair Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Clos Saint-Jacques

Domaine Bruno Clair Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Clos Saint-Jacques

Wine Information
Gevrey-Chambertin 1er cru Clos Saint-Jacques 1,0001 ha - 2.47 acres

According to several old analists, the Clos Saint-Jacques was classified "tête de cuvée" corresponding to our Grand cru of today. It is considered to be the most prestigious of the 1er cru of Gevrey-Chambertin.

The Clos Saint-Jacques is worked by five wine growers. Each owns a plot which extends upwards on the slope and this brings a great balance to the wines. The vines of our plot are particularly remarkable, thanks to the "massale" (visual selection of the most robust vineplants) made by my father more than 30 years ago. Half of the plot was planted in 1957, the other part in 1972. The vines are of an astonishing qualitative regularity there. Le Clos Saint-Jacques always produces a fine, complex wine to keep.
