Mommessin has its origins near Mácon, in Southern Burgundy, at Grange-Saint-Pierre, on the site of the Cluny Abbey. It was from there that the key, which has become the symbol of the winery, was taken. Though it originated in Burgundy, Mommessin developed much of its acclaim in Beaujolais, soon becoming one of the jewels in the region’s crown. Mommessin’s wines derive their unique character from this dual lineage, an encounter between Burgundian vinification and the bursting flavors of Beaujolais.
